Vasily Lanovoy

On 9.04.2018 famous Russian-Ukranian actor Vasily Lanovoy performed in Vienna, Austria with a solo concert in the historical Old Town Hall of Vienna.

The actor spoke about his childhood and youth darkened by German occupation and about his choice of profession. When Vasily Lanovoy was a boy he saw a poster announcing the screening of Tom Sawyer. He went to watch the film and since then became determined to become an actor. The actor described serious and humorous moments relating to his artistic career.

He was the leading man in many films which became classics of world cinematography: he was Alexei Vronsky in Anna Karenina (1967), Anatol Kuragin in War and Peace (1966-1967), Pavel Korchagin (1957) and others.

During the concert Lanovoy recited poems and his talent of declamation was received very enthusiastically by the audience. Many people brought the flowers to the great actor.

The 84 year old legendary actor demonstrated that he is still in great shape and his artistic talent is still blooming. He played in more than 80 films and still continues to play in the theatre and also works as a professor.
